Shortly after the exhibition I was asked to take part in the annual Thamesmead Art Festival, a weeklong programme of activities celebrating art in the community. The theme this year was ‘Made In Thamesmead.
The brief was to create artwork for Thamesmead’s first Farrell inspired “Urban Room” focusing on Thamesmead’s past, present and future.
Each door represents a version of Thamesmead. What you imagine is what you perceive.
I found this artwork challenging as it was my first time working with this scale, having to set my art boards to the dimensions of the windows & doors was taxing on the hardware and balancing work didn't make things easy. Regardless, everything is a learning experience and the work is complete :)
